Debt collection questions, answered
Straight answers to what businesses ask before placing accounts.
What does it cost to place accounts?
Nothing up front. We work on contingency — a percentage of what we actually recover. If we don’t collect, you don’t pay. Rates depend on balance age, volume, and account type, and are quoted in writing before any work begins, so you know your exact cost before a single call is made.
How do you stay compliant with the FDCPA and Regulation F?
Compliance is integrated into our workflow. Every call is recorded, and contact frequency is capped by system controls. Our team is fully aware of and operates in accordance with the FDCPA, TCPA, and Regulation F. We maintain a documented complaint and dispute process with full audit trails, and every account is checked against bankruptcy and deceased records before contact.
When should I send accounts to collections?
Earlier than most businesses think. Recovery probability drops sharply after 90 days past due. Most clients place accounts at 60–120 days, but we accept older inventory too — including previously worked accounts from other agencies. If your internal follow-up has stalled or the debtor has gone quiet, it’s time to place.
Do you report debts to the credit bureaus?
Yes, where permitted and when it serves the recovery strategy. We furnish accurately under the FCRA, respond to disputes within required timeframes, and suppress reporting whenever a debt is disputed or found inaccurate. Reporting is one lever among several — we’ll recommend it only when it meaningfully improves the chance of resolution.
How and when do I get paid?
Payments are received directly by you — debtors send funds straight to your account, never through us. Once the payments are confirmed, we agree on a remittance date and you forward our agreed share on that date, accompanied by itemized statements showing every account, payment, and balance. You keep full visibility and control of the money at every step.
What information do you need from me to start?
Send accounts in whatever format you have — spreadsheet, accounting export, or PDF. For each placement we need the debtor’s name, address, and phone if available, the original creditor, account number, balance, and date of last payment. The more context you provide (contracts, invoices, correspondence), the faster we can move. We’ll guide you through any gaps.
Can you locate debtors who have gone quiet or moved?
Yes. Our skip tracing works hand in hand with you and the information you can provide to track down the right party and reopen the conversation. We combine what you know with careful manual research to confirm we’ve reached the correct person before any collection activity begins.
How do I get started?
Send us a message or email us. We’ll review a sample of your receivables, quote a contingency rate in writing, and have your first placements worked within five business days of signing. There’s no minimum volume and no long-term contract — you place accounts when you need to.
Still have a question?
Email us or send a sample of your receivables — we reply within one business day.
